A very friendly surgery
The surgery is clean and well maintained. The magazine choices are mainly women oriented. Doctors are very helpful and professional. Parking however is difficult. The receptionists can be alot better without much effort. I waked in to be ignored for a few seconds in a quiet unbusy reception area. Once greeted I felt I was interrupting them rather than feeling welcome. Its nice to feel welcome, so greeting patients asap with a smile and a hello would not go a miss. This surgery is very good but the front desk experience is letting the side down.
My Mother attended the surgery for several dressings, she is 82 years of age. We were late for our appointment, this being due to my Mother's dementia. The nurse was rude telling us she had reserved half an hour and did think she could only do bits of the work. My Mother fell down her stairs at home, weighs 6 1/2 stone, has very thin skin due to steroids all her life for asthma and is very, very frail. The nurse was rude, not willing to even listen to my Mother, had no care skills, shoved her on the bed and did not care at all if my Mother was in pain. Another nurse came to assist and was slightly more caring but it was so embarrassing and humiliating to see my Mother so poorly treated after a life of working and paying towards the NHS. Goodness is this the way the NHS treat the elderly, I definitely do not look forward to old age.
A very pleasant surgery to be registered at,very good all round
Awful rude staff member on reception, only one but very obnoxious and unhelpful, will never deal with her again, there is no need for rudeness especially when trying to book an appointment for a child, which was very important told no appointments on various occasions but when I spoke directly to gp got an appointment straight away yet told full by this member of staff! I work for the nhs, and it doesn't hurt to be helpful and have a smile! I understand they have to deal with difficult patients at times but her behaviour was unessessarily, I have to do the best for my child, she should understand this!
